Wilsall Community Events, Inc. (WCE), is a non-profit Montana corporation whose purpose is to organize events that raise money for the community of Wilsall, Montana.  Proceeds from previous events have supported the building of a pavilion in the Veterans Park, improvements at the Wilsall Rodeo Grounds’ Arena and support for local organizations such as the Wilsall Sr. Center Building Improvement, Wilsall Cemetery and Wilsall Fire Department.

WCE is sponsoring its 8th Annual Wilsall Ranch Rodeo Sunday August 23, 2009.

A ranch rodeo, unlike a conventional rodeo, celebrates the cowboy skills essential to modern family ranching and honors those whose talent and commitment grow America’s beef. Each ranch rodeo team has four members, frequently from the same or neighboring families and must include female or young ranch people under 15 years. None of the events use “rough” stock.  All six of the events consist of activities that challenge family cowboys on real ranches, including Ranch horse Class, Calf Branding, Team Penning, Team Doctoring, Wild Cow Milking, and Herd Counting.  On Sunday morning before the event the Wilsall Fire Department will be serving breakfast and the kids can participate in a Dummy Roping competition.

On the evening of August 22nd, 2009, the night before the ranch rodeo, there will be a BBQ followed by a Calcutta to auction off the teams for the next day’s events and a Cowboy Dance with Crazy Mountain Express at the Wilsall Veterans Park Pavilion.

Through sponsorship of the Wilsall Ranch Rodeo, you will receive exposure in Montana’s agricultural community and offer support within the Wilsall Community.

Expected Participation: 1,200 Spectators, plus 40 team members, volunteers and their families.

Participating teams come from ranches in Wilsall, Clyde Park, White Sulphur Springs, Livingston, Bozeman and surrounding areas.
